Hey everyone – we’re back! Everything’s been sorted out, and updates are now running smoothly both in the print edition and over here.

On another note, I thought I was going to finally be able to talk with a printer that had their all their marbles together, but that was apparently not the case. I don’t know what it is, but I’m starting to get really pissed off with this whole “mek-urr-kemiks-book” thing. So far, the time I’ve spent going to and from printers trying to get quotes for the NNFK comic book has been completely fruitless. I’m beginning to think that bothering to make one is even worth the effort and money at all, given my personal experience with these people.

I still want to make some sort of compilation, which will include additional stories that won’t be available on this site. We’ll see what ultimately happens.

So what’s up with NNFK not appearing in the past few Sunday Bulletins?

No one’s really sure. From the Bulletin’s end of things, there seemed to be a bit of confusion as well. I was told that the strip wasn’t canceled (whew), and that it should have been printed the past few weeks. Something likely just got mixed up somewhere there.

I was told that they will be running the comics I sent in that weren’t printed, so I’m still trying to figure out the update schedule beyond this week’s update. I’d still like to maintain that one week buffer between print and online updates.

We’ll figure something out. In the meantime, please enjoy this week’s comic strip. Or not.

I’m pretty sure they also deny you for having the wrong combination of socks and underwear. You never know with these guys.

Also, about why NNFK hasn’t been appearing in the MB the past few weeks.

I sat there, incredulous, not believing for one moment that I was actually typing the phrase into Google’s search box. But for the sake of art (or not), I did. I’m not quite sure if I have completely recovered from the psychological trauma of my actions, for there is no true way of measuring it; but that’s what comic artists do.

Weeee tekkk dis siryuuus.

Yeah. Well. So, like buy the Manila Bulletin tomorrow. Hopefully the comic will be printed (wasn’t late this time).

This is because I usually post last Sunday’s comic strip from the Bulletin as the Saturday webcomic version. NNFK didn’t appear in the previous Sunday Bulletin because I missed the submission deadline. I missed the submission deadline because my mobile Internet connection was terrible (courtesy of SMART communications, who – as we know from advertisments – is the best, because they said so), and I was in one of the northern provinces on a business trip, away from good coverage, so while the comic was already finished, I couldn’t upload it.

I hope that made sense. Errrh… so, yeah.

The comic in question will be printed in tomorrow’s Manila Bulletin, so check that out. NNFK resumes next week on this space!

UPDATE: Okay, I just checked this week’s Sunday Bulletin and NNFK isn’t in it. I’m kinda confused now.

Oh, hey, an update that’s only two hours late! Yay. Anyway, here we are.

Just thought you might be interested a wee bit: I have been shopping around for printers, and I’ve got three in my sights. Two I’ve yet to talk to, one somehow can’t find the price sheet I’ve been asking for for two weeks already (I’ve come and gone from their shop empty-handed five times). I’m doing this indie all the way, but I also want a decent deal on the printing costs. The first book will likely be 30-40 pages of comics, along with some bonus stuff that’s not available here online or through the Manila Bulletin.

Well, I hope it all turns out well.

Yeah, so sorry for the late post and stuff. I’ve been kinda forgetting a lot of things lately, with my having to do two jobs and studying; I’ll probably need to get a planner or something. High five!
