About No Need For Kaide
No Need For Kaide is a weekly comic strip published here on the intertubes, as well as in the Sunday editions of the Manila Bulletin. It follows the non-adventures of Ribbon, Gia, Rex, and Shink, who work at a startup technology magazine called “Really Cool Stuff”, as they try to get their jobs done without completely driving each other insane. Well, at least not intentionally.

The Cast Of No Need For Kaide

About shinkaide

Potentially talented but grossly inconsistent, Shinkaide (or “shink”, as he is often called) is the newest addition the Really Cool Stuff magazine’s staff. Being the new guy, shink is either often subjected to “rookie treatment“, being made to do menial tasks, or almost quite literally driving his coworkers mad.

About Ribbon

Well-adjusted though prone to bouts of panic and confusion, Ribbon is the magazine’s most reliable and trusted writer. And editor. And graphic artist. In fact, Ribbon pretty much does everything due to the office being understaffed.

About Gia

Smart, efficient, and somewhat ruthless, Gia tries to make sure that everything in the Really Cool Stuff office operates smoothly and free of shenanigans. She takes care of the business end of things for the magazine.

About Rex

Rex is Really Cool Stuff magazine’s most tenured writer. As a dinosaur (and a vegetarian), he has to constantly face discrimination (and threats of military action) as he tries to get by in a world his species no longer dominates.

About The Big Boss

No one really knows much about the boss, save for the fact that he is from the land down-under and that he has an affinity for boomerangs. Due to a frightful accident (and a poor choice of health-care providers), he now sports the photorealistic likeness of David Hasselhoff (but only from the neck-up). He constantly makes questionable business decisions, much to the ire (Gia) and the horror (everybody else) of those in his employ.

About Andre Salvatierra

About Andre Salvatierra

Andre Salvatierra has been making comics for as long as he can remember (he has a really bad memory), starting with the questionably popular webcomic EvergreenSD. He has also made minor contributions to the works of some of his fellow comic artists such as Ariel Atienza (Class Comics, West Side), Syeri Baet (Carpool), Stanley Chi (Chopsticks). He has since been a market researcher, a zombie customer service representative, a writer, and a barista, but has always come back to making comics.
