I only read your post now. Great run, really loved the comic. Luck with life! Why No Need For Kaide Hasn’t Been Appearing in the Manila Bulletin the Past Few Weeks
I called my editor up at the Bulletin this week to sort out the non-appearance of the strip for the past few weeks or so (was it two? three? I can’t remember). I was under the impression that maybe I got the boot and someone forgot to tell me.
So what’s up with NNFK not appearing in the past few Sunday Bulletins?
No one’s really sure. From the Bulletin’s end of things, there seemed to be a bit of confusion as well. I was told that the strip wasn’t canceled (whew), and that it should have been printed the past few weeks. Something likely just got mixed up somewhere there.
I was told that they will be running the comics I sent in that weren’t printed, so I’m still trying to figure out the update schedule beyond this week’s update. I’d still like to maintain that one week buffer between print and online updates.
We’ll figure something out. In the meantime, please enjoy this week’s comic strip. Or not.

Good question.
The truth is, I’m not sure. Personally, I’m not one to pay attention to race or nationality; when I create characters, I prefer to focus more on the character and personality of each one as opposed to categorizations that just serve to pigeonhole them.
In this instance though, these characters are partly inspired by people I’ve met. So I guess you could say:
+ Shink: Spanish-Filipino
+ Ribbon: Filipino
+ Gia: Chinese
I’ll leave what nationality Rex is to your imagination.
