I had a couple of jobs that required me to commute to the city adjacent to the one I was currently living in. Most of the time, I only had two ways to get there: By bus or by train.
Going by bus was the easiest and cheapest. The problem was if you got on an empty bus (as most were during the times I got on), these buses would wait for what seemed like hours on end at every station for just one or two passengers to get on. It’d take almost two hours to get to work.
Going by train was the more expensive option, but it was by far the quickest; I’d get to work in exactly 45 minutes barring any train delays. The only problem was before I got to the train station, I’d have catch a jeep ride and then walk a bit, and by the time I got to the station, I’d be sweating beads. Inside the train cars it would be freezing and stuffed with people just as sweaty as I was, no one with any guarantees of having remembered to put on deodorant. Once off the train you’d be sweating again.
Frankly, I don’t really remember why I even bothered to shower in the mornings.
